Spring Break

Read the Article from Time Magazine about spring break.  Thinking about what you learned in Online A about your digital footprint and Internet Safety, answer the following questions:

1.  The article said that there is no "firm" data that this is true...what do you think?
2.  How would you feel if someone (friend or possibly stranger) put a picture or video of you on the web doing something embarrassing or illegal??
3. After constantly hearing about why social networking is "bad" or "dangerous", is it nice to see something positive come out of  popular social networking sites such as Facebook and YouTube?? Explain.

  1. I think that this is most likely the reason that spring break isn't as crazy. People are more aware that pictures could be posted and they could get in a lot of trouble. I would be very upset if someone posted a picture of me doing something embarrassing or illegal because I didn't give them permission, and I could get in trouble. It is nice to see something positive come out of social networking site because it proves that it's not all bad.

  2. I think that that is the reason why spring break is less wild thin it use to be. If i said it was ok that they could put a picture or video of me thin its fine. Yes, because it makes people use those sites more.

  3. yes i think that is true because people are thinking what if someone put something embarrassing of a social networking site about you.
i would be embarrassed and i would probably would get mad at the person who posted it, think before you post something that can ruin someones reputation.
yes i do think it is nice to hear something that is positive coming out of a social network because i have hear many stories where people get hurt from a social networking site.

  4. Yes i think it is true because teens are starting to think of the fact that they could have embarrassing pictures of them taken or video taped and possibly sent and they don't want to be embarrassed or caught so i think they will be more careful. I would be embarrassed if that happened to me if someone posted a video opr photo of me that was embarrassing or illegal. It is nice to see something nice come out of a social networking site because it shows that the sites are not that bad like people think.

  5. I do believe that people are now worried what is going to be on social networking sites and their digital footprint could be at stake if pictures are posted of them doing illegal or bad things, which is why it is not as crazy. If someone posted a picture or video of me doing something illegal or embarrassing I would be extremely angry and would want it removed quickly before you do get into trouble. It is not good because it never should have been that crazy to begin with.

  6. I think this is a very good reason spring break is becoming less wild. I wouldn't somebody taking a picture of me doing something crazy without getting the "okay" from me. If somebody did post a picture of me I would have to fight them hockey style... pull the sweater over the head and give them some upper cuts. For somebody to say that the social networking sites are bad and then something positive to come of it is really nice to see because this proves that not all things on social networking sites aren't bad.

  7. What I think is that people are being more careful knowing that someone could post a embarrassing or inappropriate picture or video of them partying or etc on a social networking site. I also feel like people are really worried about it and that is the reason why people have slowed down and not been as crazy. If something like that happened to me it would ruin my reputation. Not only that but i'd be really embarrassed that anyone on the internet could see me like that. I would feel really bad about myself. Yes I think it is great to hear something that is positive come out of a social networking site especially hearing so many negative stories about the dangers of social networking.

  8. 1.)It seems like this is the most likely reason that people aren't as wild as they used to be.
2.)If someone posted a photo or video of me online without my permission, whether I was doing something embarrassing, illegal, both, or neither, I would feel as if my privacy had been grossly violated.
3.)I suppose so, honestly Social Networking seems to be becoming too integral to people's lives, but it is nice to see something good come out of it.

  10. 1. I agree that there most definitely is no firm data concerning the rowdiness of teenagers, and most likely will never be due to so many uncontrolled variables affecting every human's choice on their break.
    2. While I highly doubt that I would ever be caught doing such behavior, I would be angered and embarrassed should such an event occur.
    3. Not particularly, as even if social networking does have good things coming from it, it does not magically erase all of the harm it has done.

  11. I think that it is true because people are more worried about their social networking. I would be if I was in their position also.
I would not be very happy with that person because someone that I look up to saw that they would not be happy with me.
Yes it is nice to see something positive like that because social networking site always get negative talk.

  12. I think that it depends on where people put the info for what happens to it but once it out there you cant get it back. If a friend put a pic or video of me doing something embarrassing on the internet i might be mad but then i would probably just get over it. Yeah it is is because the only thing you usually see on face book is the stupid things people do that their friends think are funny. So now they know that they are being held accountable.

  13. 1. I that it is true because people are more worried about what they do on facebook than they do about their own life.
    2. I would be upset with that person
    3. Yes it is nice to see something positive like that because when most people talk about social networking sites they always talk about it negatively.
